Morian Yan, a native of Hangzhou,
Zhejiang Province, began to learn piano from Mr. Yu Gang(vice president of the Zhejiang Musicians Association) when she was 4 years old. She was admitted to music High School to study piano. At 18, she was admitted to Zhejiang Conservatory of Music for her bachelor's degree and later come to the University of British Columbia for her master's degree. In the national piano competition and provincial piano competitions she have won the gold medal, first prize, second prize, and other achievements including concert and master tutorial experience.
Since entering the university, she set up her music studio and produce a series of local famous little musicians. Her students won the first prize in the national Chopin piano competition, Zhejiang provincial children's piano competition first prize, second prize. She was so trusted by students’ parents, and local students in Hangzhou need to wait in line until the original students graduate then they can follow Morian to study piano. In Hangzhou, there are many music performers, university music professors and principals of large music training institutions’ children study with Morian, including first-class tenor Zhang Yufang of Zhejiang Province, teachers of the Zhejiang University of Media, and Other musicians’ children.
She is good at communicating with and solving problems in children's piano practice, and making individual learning plans for children. Every student is different, so teaching students according to their aptitude is the focus of Morian's piano teaching. Because of her excellent teaching, Ms. Morian has been engaged in both domestic art examination and music study abroad, and her students have made great achievements, ranking among the top 50 in the province and the top 10 in the National musicology college examination, and many students have enrolled to famous music universities.
